Ingredients:

1 2 cups milk

2 2 Tbsp cocoa

3 1/2 cup sugar

4 1/4 tsp salt

5 3 Tbsp cornstarch

6 3 eggs separated

7 2 Tbsp butter

8 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions:

1 Mix together milk, sugar, salt and cornstarch and warm in microwave for 2 minutes.

2 Add cocoa and microwave for 2 more minutes.

3 In a different bowl separate the eggs and set whites aside for another use. Mix in a small amount of the heated mixture to the egg yolks to temper eggs. Strain the tempered mixture (to remove any icky clumps) then stir into the remaining hot milk/sugar/cornstarch/cocoa mixture. Heat the mixture for an additional 2 minutes at 70% power.

4 Mix in butter and vanilla and chill before serving.

Contributors Notes:

Use less sugar if making banana pudding. Omit cocoa to make vanilla pudding. **Our Magic Chef microwave needs +1 +1 minutes (total of 2 minutes, stir in between)
